Giants Injury Update: Angel Pagan out Tuesday

By on 9/17/2014 10:15:00 AM

The San Francisco Giants defeated the Arizona Diamondbacks on Tuesday by the score of 2-1. The win improved the Giants to 83-68, three games behind the Los Angeles Dodgers in the National League West. The Giants played without the services of Angel Pagan, who was scratched again due to lower back stiffness. Juan Perez started in center for Pagan and went 0-for-4.

Our own Rose Ingberman reported yesterday that Pagan, who was on the disabled list from June 15 through August 7 with a lower back injury, was out of the lineup on Monday with tightness in his lower back.

Pagan's absence from the lineup on Tuesday was reported on the Giants official Twitter account prior to the game.
Pagan, in his ninth Major League season, is batting .302 with three home runs and 27 RBI in 95 games this season. The veteran outfielder has played for the Cubs, Mets and Giants and has a career batting average of .284 with 49 home runs and 322 RBI.
