Giants Injury Update: Odell Beckham could miss three more weeks

The New York Giants offense could be without one of their young weapons longer than originally thought, Ralph Vacchiano of the New York Daily News reported on Twitter.

Wideout Odell Beckham Jr. has been battling a hamstring injury since training camp started in late July and has yet to take the field for the Giants. When asked about Beckham's likelihood of practicing sometime this week, before the team's opener this week against the Detroit Lions, head coach Tom Coughlin was straightforward.

"I doubt that very much," Coughlin said. "He might be two, three weeks away."

The Giants were counting on the first-round choice to help replace the departed Hakeem Nicks , but Beckham's hamstring has been problematic for the team.

The injury initially flared up during the offseason workouts, and tests early on showed it was a minor injury. However, Bleacher Report noted that this type of injury is one that can linger, and it would appear that this is exactly what is happening with Beckham.

For now, it would appear Giants fans will have to wait out the injury before they can see their top pick in action.
