Jaguars Injury Update: Allen Hurns injures ankle

By on 9/16/2014 10:45:00 PM

Jacksonville Jaguar receiver Allen Hurns injured his left ankle during the second half of Sunday’s embarrassing loss to the Washington Redskins. Following the game, Ryan O’Halloran of reported that Allen had already been for X-rays and was seen using crutches in the locker room.

Now one may think, if a guy gets carried off the field on a stretcher, goes for X-rays and needs crutches to maneuver, he’s probably out for the season. Nope! As it turns out, what appeared to be a serious injury is a lot less worrisome today. According to senior writer John Oehser of, the Jaguars have confirmed that Hurns is currently day-to-day.

This must come as great news to the Jaguars who have looked like geniuses after picking up the undrafted 22-year-old Miami native. I mean, I can’t even begin to imagine what it feels like to play in the NFL (for starters, I’m 5’8 and 160, so ya) but to go out and get two touchdowns on your first two receptions, man that’s awesome. That’s someone you want on your team; a guy who’s not afraid of the moment.

You can be sure the Jaguars are hoping that Hurns will be healthy enough come Sunday when the Colts comes to town. With both teams riding a record of 0 – 2 to start off the season, I bet neither of these teams wants to lose another.
