Jaguars Injury Update: Cecil is completely healthy

By on 9/01/2014 08:52:00 AM

The Jacksonville Jaguars will have their most experienced wide receiver for their regular season opener. Hays Carlyon from The Florida Times-Union reports Cecil Shorts is healthy and ready for the season.

Shorts played 15 snaps in the third preseason game and played into the fourth quarter Thursday night against Atlanta. It was his most extensive action of the preseason.

The fourth-year veteran injured his hamstring during the first practice of training camp back on July 25. He'll spend a lot of time this week shaking the rest of the rust off and conditioning.

The Jags need him to be ready for the opener in Philadelphia against the Eagles. He'll lead a receiving corps made-up of three rookies.

Shorts has caught 121 passes for 1,756 yards and 10 touchdowns over the last two seasons.
