Jets Injury Update: Dee Milliner doubtful for opener

By on 9/01/2014 07:01:00 PM

The New York Jets secondary is a mess right now, and Dee Milliner's injury isn't helping. The Jets have been depleted at cornerback all training camp. They've been searching for cornerbacks since cut day, and that will tell you all need to know about their secondary.

Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News tweeted that the feeling right now is that Dee Milliner won't play in the opener vs. Oakland. That would be the worst case scenario, because it means that there's potential for someone they grab on the waiver wire to end up being a key part of week one.

They have added a cornerback from the waiver wire already, that being Leon McFadden. McFadden has potential to be a decent corner. He can make some plays, but he can also cost you some plays too. He was known for causing too many penalties in the Cleveland secondary last year. He's 23, so there's time to improve.

The Jets plan on having Darrin Walls start, and maybe Antonio Allen will be available, although he's coming off a concussion injury from two weeks ago. Darrin Walls will most likely be a reserve when Dee Milliner is back.

Either way, I don't expect the Jets to let up their pursuit of cornerbacks any time soon. And Hey, at least you can name some Jets cornerbacks after reading this article...even though they may not be Jets by the time you read this article.
