Jets Injury Update: Eric Decker, Dee Milliner

By on 9/26/2014 11:00:00 AM

The New York Jets top weapon in the passing game, Eric Decker, and their top defensive back, Dee Milliner, are both dealing with leg injuries as the Jets head into their week four contest with the San Diego Chargers.. Decker injured his hamstring in week two against the Green Bay Packers and Dee Milliner injured his quad in the same contest.

Decker was able to suit up against the Chicago Bears in week three but did not play much. He removed himself after playing just 12 snaps in the Jets loss on Monday night. He and Head Coach Rex Ryan are optimistic he will be available this weekend according to David Wyatt of

"I'm planning on getting out there," Decker said. "I can't promise anything, but obviously, I'm leaning on the positive side that I'm definitely going to be out there."

Rich Cimini on Twitter seconded that notion but as for Dee Milliner, there wasn't as much optimism:

The New York Daily News reported that Rex Ryan was getting fed up with the injuries to Milliner, who missed the Jets opening week with a high left ankle sprain and week three with the quad injury. Ryan isn't upset with Milliner, but with the circumstances. The second year player has missed five of his first 19 NFL games. With and without Milliner, the Jets secondary has been the defense's weakness.

Stay up with the situation on both Decker and Milliner as game time approaches this weekend.
