Kings Injury Update: Drew Doughty recovering from offseason injury

By on 9/24/2014 07:30:00 PM

Good news for the Los Angeles Kings. Drew Doughty is 'good to go' after suffering an injury during the off season. The defenseman is unsure when he will play next, but he says he has been feeling good for a while and that it is precaution.

There is no word on what the actual injury was, except it was an upper-body injury. The injury was said to have happened during a 'freak pre-training camp accident.'

Doughty is waiting for the doctors and coaches to clear him and allow him to get a preseason game or two in before the regular season begins.

"I still don't know the status on that but I've been feeling good. Feeling good for a while, no problems,"

"Whenever the coaches and medical staff deem me ready to play, I'll be ready to go."

"I knew that when I got back here they’d just kind of let me gradually get back into skates and get back on the ice, just to keep it safe," "There’s no point in rushing anything."

Last season Doughty played 78 games, had 10 goals and 27 assists. He also helped the Kings win their second Stanley Cup playing 26 games recording five goals and 13 assists.
