Lions Injury Update: Joique Bell sustains concussion

By on 9/29/2014 12:00:00 PM

The Detroit Lions running back duo of Reggie Bush and Joique Bell was cut in half Sunday against the New York Jets when Bell sustained a concussion. The injury occurred in the third quarter and Bell was not able to return.

Reggie Bush was able to help the Lions run out the clock late in the fourth quarter. He tallied 27 yards on three carries including a 16 yard dash where he avoided a would-be tackler in the backfield and was able to stay in bounds to keep the clock running as Dave Birkett of The Detroit Free Press reported.

Bell's status going forward won't be known until he goes through the league's mandatory concussion protocol. More news will be available as the week progresses. The Lions play host to the Buffalo Bills on Sunday.
