Mets Injury Update: Daniel Murphy activated and in lineup

The Mets activated All-Star second baseman Daniel Murphy for Tuesday night's game against the Colorado Rockies, according to Sean Sullivan of the Examiner. Murphy had been on the DL since August 25 with a strained right calf.

In 126  games before his injury, Murphy hit .301/.343/.424 (OPS+ 118) with nine homers and  53 RBI.

Murphy, 29, is in his sixth major league season, all for the Mets, and has posted a career line of .292/.335/.424. The Mets drafted him in 2006 (13th round) and he made his debut August 2, 2008. He lost the 2010 season with right knee problems and ended the 2011 season with a strained left knee. Murphy is in his second year of arbitration ($5.7 million) and eligible for free agency after the 2015 season.
