Packers Injury Update: Bryan Bulaga out 2-4 weeks

By on 9/09/2014 08:30:00 PM

Green Bay Packers right tackle Bryan Bulaga suffered a torn knee medial collateral ligament (MCL) in Thursday's game against the Seattle Seahawks. Rob Demovsky of ESPN reports the Packers expect Bulaga to miss two to four weeks due to the injury. The fifth-year player from Iowa is no stranger to knee injuries having suffered an knee anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) tear in 2013, causing him to miss the entire season.

The Packers could be looking for help at tackle given the recurrent nature of Bulaga's knee injuries and are watching his recovery closely.  Demovsky also reports Head Coach Mike McCarthy couldn't fully rule out Bulaga for the next game against the New York Jets, but had no firm timetable on his return.  While this injury to the MCL sounds minor, the lateral movement of an offensive lineman can often be affected. Any reports of Bulaga practicing will be seen as positive progress towards a return.
