Panthers Injury Update: Mike Tolbert, Jonathan Stewart

The unimpressive Carolina Panthers running attack suffered another setback in week three against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Full back Mike Tolbert was diagnosed with a hairline fracture in his right leg and running back Jonathan Stewart suffered a severely sprained knee.

Head Coach Ron Rivera revealed Monday, via The Associated Press, that Jonathan Stewart will be held out of practice Wednesday and Thursday with a severely sprained knee. He will be reassessed on Friday. Mike Tolbert, sporting crutches and a knee brace, will miss Sunday's game with a hairline fracture in his right leg. The fullback is week to week, per Rivera.
Rivera also added he is optimistic that running back DeAngelo Williams will return from his hamstring injury and play this weekend against the Baltimore Ravens. The Panthers already signed Darrin Reaves from their practice squad and it is unknown if the Panthers will attempt to add more depth. 
If Williams is able to go, he could be a good bye week replacement in fantasy leagues, as he will likely be the featured back if Jonathan Stewart doesn't recover enough to be cleared to play. The Panthers offensive line has struggled to create holes for the backs though and the Panthers currently rank 29th in rushing yards per game with just 72.3, according to
