By on 9/12/2014 01:00:00 PM

Pittsburgh Penguins released a statement saying their 22nd overall pick in the 2014 NHL draft, Kasperi Kapanen will miss rookie camp this weekend.

Kapanen suffered an injury this summer and he is still rehabbing it. Though he will miss rookie camp the Penguins say he could possibly be back during the NHL training camp.

Penguins sixth-round prospect (177th overall) Jaden Lindo will also miss training camp due to a knee injury he suffered in February. There is no time-table for his return.

Rookie camp is set to open on Friday September 12th with off ice physical tests and then following days on-ice testing. NHL training camp will open on Friday September 19th, 2014.
