Last season was quite a season for Pittsburgh Penguins defenseman Kris Letang. After everything that has happened, the 27 year old is hoping to have a better season.

Last season started off with Letang suffering a knee injury in October. He missed nine games from the injury.

Letang returned for a few more games and then suffered an upper-body/elbow injury. He returned in January after missing 10 games from the injury.

Not even a month later, it was announced that Letang suffered a stroke due to a heart ailment. He missed 26 games before returning to the game just before the playoffs.

He played through the playoffs and when the Penguins were eliminated it was revealed that he suffered a foot and wrist injury.

Letang is now fully recovered. He has been working out and this summer, he has been practicing along some Montreal Canadiens players in Brossard, Quebec.

Letang said in an interview, "I think it's going to be a new start for me".

"I want to make sure nobody is going to doubt me, the job I'm going to be doing on the ice. I think basically I just want to prove myself to everyone that is part of the past and we're looking ahead."

Last season, Letang played 37 games, had 11 goals and 11 assists.
