The Philadelphia Phillies fell to the Oakland A's on Friday by the score of 3-1. The loss dropped the Phillies to 70-84 on the season. The Phillies got their only run on a solo home run by Ryan Howard off Jon Lester, who won his 16th game of the season. The Phillies were without left fielder Domonic Brown, who was scratched from the lineup.

Matt Gelb, who covers the Phillies for The Philadelphia Inquirer, tweeted the following on Brown before last night's game.
Sizemore, who is batting .263 since joining the Phillies, hit sixth in the lineup and went 0-for-3 with a walk.

Brown, in his fifth Major League season, is batting .237 with 10 home runs and 61 RBI. He had a career high 27 home runs, 83 RBI and a .272 batting average last season.  Brown is a career .249 hitter with 49 home runs and 202 RBI in 423 games.
