Rams Injury Update: Tavon Austin

By on 9/16/2014 07:39:00 PM

The St. Louis Rams' second year wide receiver, Tavon Austin, suffered an MCL strain during Week 2 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The injury could keep him "out for roughly two weeks," reports Ian Rapoport of NFL.com.

On Monday, the Rams posted a tweet saying that "coach Jeff Fisher announced that Tavon Austin has a mild knee sprain and could play Sunday."

This would be good news for the Rams and their offense if Austin could play Sunday. Austin, a 2013 first round draft pick, definitely has big play potential when he is healthy.

Austin has three receptions for 34 yards for an 11.3 average with no touchdowns in 2014.

The Rams coming off a win at Tampa Bay have to be feeling confident moving forward. This season has already been an injury nightmare. They have lost their quarterback for the year and one of their best defensive lineman will also miss a significant amount of time.
