The Rangers were eliminated from the playoffs earlier this week, and the terrible year keeps getting worse for baseball's worst team. Earlier this afternoon, manager Ron Washington resigned from his position after 8 seasons.
The Rangers should let Alex Rios take his time recovering from this injury. The Rangers need to make sure Rios is healthy for next year, where they intend to compete for the playoffs again. Rios is hitting .290/.311/.398 with 4 HRs and 54 RBIs on the year. However he's 9 for 37 over his last 10 games, good for a .243 average.
