By on 9/24/2014 07:00:00 AM

Texas Rangers utility man Jim Adduci, who suffered a concussion August 28 in an on-field collision with teammate Rougned Oder, was activated from the 15-day DL, according to John Blake of the Rangers.

Prior to his injury, Adduci, 29, was hitting .177.250/.240 (OPS+ 38)  in 109 PAs as an outfielder and first baseman.

Adduci missed half of the 2014 season due to surgery on the left pinky finger he fractured in April. He was activated from the DL on July 21. Originally drafted by the Florida Marlins in 2003 (42nd round) Adduci made his debut ten years later on September 1, 2013. That makes him still a rookie, pre-arb and under team control through 2019.
