Rangers Injury Update: Yu Darvish aiming to start throwing in November

By on 9/29/2014 11:30:00 AM

The Texas Rangers concluded a dismal 2014 season with a 4-0 loss to the Oakland A's on Sunday. At 67-95, the Rangers finished last in the American League West. Injuries plagued the Rangers all season, as only five position players appeared in over 120 games and no starter made 30 starts. One key loss was that of Yu Darvish, who made only 22 starts. He is looking to start throwing in the middle of November.

I reported on September 26 that Darvish, who has been out since August 9 with a sore elbow, was progressing but had not yet started his rehab program.

Anthony Andro, who covers the Rangers for, tweeted the following update on Darvish.
Darvish, in his third Major League season, finished 2014 with a 10-7 record and a 3.06 ERA in 22 starts.  In 144 1/3 innings, he's allowed 133 hits and stuck out 182.  Darvish has a career record of 39-25 with an ERA of 3.27. In 545 1/3 innings, he's allowed only 434 hits and struck out 680.
