By on 9/26/2014 06:30:00 AM

The Texas Rangers entered the final four games of the 2014 season on Thursday with a dismal record of 65-93, last in the American League West. Injuries have been a major contributor to the poor season, as only four players have appeared in over 130 games and no starting pitcher has reached 30 starts. There is some positive news on the injury front on Yu Darvish and Prince Fielder.

As reported by Dave Sessions of, Darvish and Fielder are both on schedule in their recoveries from season-ending injuries.

Darvish has been out since August 9 with a sore elbow. Although he hasn't started his rehab program, he's on schedule to begin throwing around the first week of November.

Darvish, in his third Major League season, is 10-7 with a 3.06 ERA in 22 starts.  In 144 1/3 innings, he's allowed 133 hits and stuck out 182.  Darvish has a career record of 39-25 with an ERA of 3.27. In 545 1/3 innings, he's allowed only 434 hits and struck out 680.

As for Fielder, he's begun baseball activities, including swinging the bat and working out with strength and conditioning coach Jose Vasquez.

Fielder hit just .247 with three home runs and 16 RBI in 42 games this season. The 10-year Major League veteran has played for the Brewers, Tigers and Rangers and is a career .285 hitter with 288 home runs and 886 RBI.
