The Cincinnati Reds announced today that they will transfer RHP Homer Bailey to the 60-day DL, making an extra spot for September call-ups, according to C. Trent Rosecrans.

Bailey hurt his right elbow while batting on August 7th, and had hoped to be back in September, but has been shut down for the season with a flexor mass strain in his right elbow. The Reds also made some September call-ups, including Donald Lutz, Yorman Rodriguez, Jake Elmore, Daniel Corcino, David Holmberg, Jason Bourgeois, Ryan Dennick, Carlos Contreras, Tucker Barnhart, and J.J. Hoover.

Prior to the injury, Bailey was 9-5, with a 3.71 ERA in 145.2 innings pitched.
