Redskins Injury Update: DeSean Jackson to test shoulder

By on 9/19/2014 12:00:00 PM

Washington Redskins, and former Philadelphia Eagles, wide receiver DeSean Jackson mildly sprained the AC joint in his left shoulder during the Redskins beating of the Jacksonville Jaguars in week two. The Redskins and Eagles will battle this week in an NFC East match up, which will be Jackson's first game against his old team.

Albert Breer tweeted:

Jackson obviously is going to want to play against the team that, surprisingly to many, released him in the offseason. Brandon Lee Gowton of says that Jackson even reached out to his former teammate LeSean McCoy on Tuesday. McCoy stated:

"He’s [Jackson] playing. He’s definitely playing. That’s the first thing he text, he said, ‘I’m playin’.'"

McCoy's text exchange with Jackson confirms a report on Monday that Jackson is willing to do "whatever it takes" to be ready for this week's Eagles-Redskins game in Philadelphia, according to Gowton.

A big hurdle for Jackson will be to see how he feels following Friday's practice. If I were a betting man, I'd put my money on that DeSean Jackson will on the field even if it means playing with one arm. The injury report the Redskins provide Saturday into Sunday will give us a better idea of Jackson's status heading into the matchup.
