By on 9/16/2014 05:15:00 PM

Kansas City Royals lefty Danny Duffy's sore shoulder will force him to miss another start, reports Jackson Alexander of Liam Hendriks will start Tuesday against the Chicago White Sox. The Royals are 1.5 games back of the Detroit Tigers for the AL Central lead, and tied with the two games ahead of the Seattle Mariners for an AL Wild Card.

Duffy will throw a four-inning simulated game and if all goes well, make his next start on Monday against the Cleveland Indians.

Danny Duffy
Duffy has an 8-11 record with a 2.42 ERA (ERA+ 166) in 29 games (23 starts) and 108 strikeouts in 141.1 innings.

The 25-year-old Duffy is in his fourth major league season, but he appeared in only eleven games over the 2012-2013 seasons, as he had Tommy John surgery in June of 2012. In 2011, his rookie year, he made 20 starts, going 4-8 with a 5.64 ERA (ERA+ 73) and 87 strikeouts in 105 innings. Duffy was drafted by the Royals in 2007 (3rd round) and made his debut May 18, 2011. He is pre-arb and under team control through 2017.
