Saints Head Coach Sean Payton said Ingram, who has averaged 6 yards per carry and scored three touchdowns, won't be able to play Sunday when the Saints (0-2) host Minnesota (1-1) because of surgery to repair his broken hand.

In regards to the procedure and timetable for return, Payton added, "Everything went well," adding that the running back's status would be updated "week to week."

In Mark Ingram's absence, Khiry Robinson, the second year undrafted free agent, should see a huge boost in carries out of the backfield, with Pierre Thomas expected to be on the field for most of the passing downs.
