Seahawks Injury Update: Christine Michael out with hamstring injury

By on 9/05/2014 12:49:00 AM

The reigning Super Bowl Champion Seattle Seahawks and the Green Bay Packers will kick off the NFL season tonight. Unfortunately for Seahawks, they will be forced to begin their title defence without RB Christine Michael, as he has been sidelined with an apparent hip injury.

John Boyle of the Everett Herald confirmed the news via Twitter yesterday.
The Seattle coach is likely not going to loose much sleep over this one. Michael is currently playing a position that ranks him as the team’s third option, behind Marshawn Lynch and Robert Turbin. I mean don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying the Pete doesn't care, I’m simply making the point that if it had been Marshawn Lynch out with a hip injury, coach Carroll is more likely to be found holding a bottle of Pepto before the game.

Realistically, with the way the season turned out last year, the Seahawks have reason to be as confident as they were during the offseason. This group of guys not only won the Vince Lombardi trophy, they embarrassed Payton Manning and Denver Broncos on the biggest stage.

As far as tonight is concerned, the Seahawks will likely come out with a boom, hopefully Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers are ready.
