Seahawks Injury Update: Kam Chancellor, Marshawn Lynch

By on 9/18/2014 12:40:00 PM

Marshawn Lynch and Kam Chancellor, two big names on the Seattle Seahawks' roster, were added to the injury report on Wednesday, according to a post on the Seahawks' blog by Bob Condotta.

Coach Carroll mentioned that Lynch was feeling back tightness during the San Diego game last week. Chancellor is dealing with an ankle injury, but was able to play the entire game.

Carroll did not indicate if there were any new injuries to report going into Week 3 for either Lynch or Chancellor. The sitting out of practice for both players appears to be only a precautionary measure.

This isn't the first missed practice for Lynch, he has sat out of a few practices over his career due to his back. Though it does not appear either players will miss Sunday's game against the Denver Broncos, the loss of either of these players would surely impact the offense and defense.

Lynch will be going up against the Broncos' 10th-ranked rushing defense on Sunday, in which they allowed 93 yards rushing a game and three rushing touchdowns. Lynch has 26 carries for 146 yards and two rushing touchdowns in two games this year.

The game on Sunday, although early in the season, is an important game for both teams. The Broncos want to redeem themselves after last year's Super Bowl blowout loss to the Seahawks. The Seahawks want to prove it was no fluke and that all roads to this year's Super Bowl will go through Seattle.
