Seahawks Week 1 Injury Report: Bruce Irvin, Christine Michael, Jeremy Lane

By on 9/04/2014 02:00:00 PM

The Seattle Seahawks will hang last season's Super Bowl banner and begin the quest for a repeat tonight when they host the Green Bay Packers. One key component to any Super Bowl caliber team is depth. When somebody goes down with an injury, you need to have somebody who can step up and fill the void.

The Seahawks had one of the deepest teams in 2013 and have brought back most of that depth this year. With several players ruled out of tonight's game on their injury report, we will find out a lot about how deep this year's Seahawks team is in tonight's game.

Tight end Cooper Helfet was held out of practice this week with a knee injury and will not play tonight. Center/guard Lemeul Jeanpierre was placed on injured reserve with a neck injury. Jeanpierre will not play in tonight's game or any other games this season. Running back Christine Michael (neck) did not practice this week and has been ruled out for tonight's game. Also out for tonight's game are linebacker Kevin Pierre-Louis (hamstring) and cornerback Tharold Simon (knee).

Probables for tonight's game include linebacker/defensive end Bruce Irvin (hip), cornerback Jeremy Lane (groin), and wide receiver Kevin Norwood (ankle).
