The Dallas Stars have announced that goaltender Kari Lehtonen suffered a concussion during last nights game against the Florida Panthers. The injury occurred during the third period when a Stars defenseman checked Panthers' forward Nick Bjugstad into the goaltender.

According to coach Lindy Ruff, the symptoms for the goalie are mild. Today at the rink Lehtonen seemed better then he was last night and now it will be protocol with giving him a few days off incase new symptoms appear.

“To me, Kari seems pretty good today,”

“I am not a doctor and I don’t play one on TV, but I think we are basically out of the woods in that situation. Just have to give the mandatory couple of days.”

Lehtonen also suffered a concussion in March. He was taken out by Minnesota Wild forward Erik Haula, his helmet flew off and as he fell he his head on the crossbar.

The 30 year old goalie is currently in his second year of his five year, 29.5 million dollar contract with the stars.
