Stars Injury Update: Rich Peverley working out, still can't skate yet

By on 9/18/2014 09:00:00 PM

It has been quite a year for Rich Peverley and things are starting to look on the bright side. Peverley has started working out but he has not started to skate.

Peverley's 2013-2014 season came to an abrupt end in March when he collapsed on the bench during a game against the Dallas Stars and the Columbus Blue Jackets. The game was postponed and replayed in April.

The forward underwent heart surgery and has been taking a step-by-step recovery.

Peverley has been cleared to work out, but before he can take the ice, he has to go back and see a cardiologist. There is no timetable yet. It is still uncertain if he will ever be able to play again, but that is not a main concern for the 32 year old.

“It’s a process, and there are a lot of steps,”

“I’m trying to take the steps one at a time and just see what happens. If I can play, that will be great."

“If I can’t, then I’ll deal with that at that time.”

Peverley has 1 year left on his contract-worth 3.25 million dollars.
