Steelers Injury Update: Ike Taylor 'will be back'

By on 9/24/2014 11:01:00 PM

Last Sunday during the Pittsburgh Steelers 37 – 19 win over the Carolina PanthersIke Taylor suffered a gruesome injury. If you were watching live or saw it later, it probably wasn’t much of a surprise to hear that Ike was going to need surgery on his arm, breaking both his radius and ulna bones.

I can understand the disappointment Steelers fans must be feeling. The team paid a high price to get that win over the Panthers. Although, if there is a silver lining to all of this, it’s Ike Taylor’s attitude towards his recovery and return. According to sports writer Mark Kaboly of, only 24 hours removed from surgery, from his hospital bed, Ike was discussing his return on his TribLive Radio Show:

Oh, yeah, I will be back,” Taylor said Tuesday morning. “I can't let my teammates down."
This guy is a warrior; good thing for the Steelers he’s on their team. If I were a teammate of Taylor’s I would be quite happy to hear those comments. In a game built around having a strong team, not just one strong player, Ike showed his teammates just how he feels about them.

Up next, the Steelers are scheduled to take on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers this Sunday at 1:00 PM EST on Heinz Field.
