Texans Injury Update: Arian Foster, Shane Lechler

By on 9/27/2014 10:45:00 AM

The Houston Texans are trying to get their third win of the season this week, something they could not do last season. It may be tougher than it should be, though. Arian Foster and Shane Lechler are not fully healthy yet, and they are an important part to this Texans team.

Arian Foster is battling a hamstring injury, and is trying to avoid missing his second straight week. He's also questionable for Sunday vs. the Bills. The hamstring has been a bothersome injury for Foster in his career. This year was supposed to be the year where Foster finally proved that he could stay healthy over a full season, but that will not happen this year. What really matters is that he gets healthy and helps the Texans push for a playoff spot, because it looks like they will be able to hang around for at least a little while.

Shane Lechler is questionable as well with a hip injury. In a battle vs. the Bills this week, field position will be a key to the game. The Texans are going to need Lechler out there; he is one of the better punters in the league.

The feeling around the league is that if the Texans lose this game, it will bring back ugly memories of last season where they started 2-0 and lost 14 straight. The Texans are going to need Foster and Lechler to be on their 'A' game if they are going to beat the Bills-a team hungry for their third win of the season, too.
