Texans Injury Update: Brian Cushing excited to be back on field

By on 9/01/2014 07:35:00 PM

The Houston Texans finally have one of their spiritual, mental and physical leaders back. Brian Cushing is ready to get back to ready on the field after being forced to leave last season with a knee injury. It'll be a joy to see him on the field again.

Cushing believes that he knows Romeo Crennel's playbook well. He acknowledges that there's a difference between reading the playbook and translating it on the field. Obviously, he's prepared to go out and test his knowledge on the field.

Cushing is one of the veterans on the Texans defense. He'll be the quarterback of the defense, calling out the plays in the huddle. Cushing sets high standards for himself and his teammates, so it shouldn't be a major surprise if the Texans' defense is decent.

The major question will be can Cushing remain healthy. He's a warrior out there on the field, and he's not afraid of anybody. Remember Cushing bashing his helmet-less face against former Browns guard Shawn Lauvao. Cushing is one crazy, fearless football player.

The question remains, though, can he stay healthy? We will have to see.
