Texans Injury Update: Jadeveon Clowney injured, out for rest of game.

By on 9/07/2014 03:25:00 PM

Houston Texans defensive lineman Jadeveon Clowney is out for the remainder of the team's game against the Redskins, CSN's Rob Carlin reported.

Clowney was seen limping to the locker room after injuring the knee around halftime of the game, and the team officially announced he will not return. Clowney had one tackle for the Texans prior to the injury.

The first overall selection in the 2014 Draft, Clowney has battled injuries throughout his college and (brief) professional career.

Clowney suffered knee injuries in college that forced him to miss an entire season and earlier this offseason the 21-year-old underwent surgery for a sports hernia. He has also suffered a concussion since being drafted by the Texans.

The Texans already have J.J. Watt on their defensive line, but Clowney would add pressure from the other side as a linebacker/defensive lineman hybrid and force teams to play both, not just keying in on Watt.

This post will be updated as more information about the injury is available.
