Jets Injury Update: Eric Decker

By on 9/19/2014 09:07:00 PM

The New York Jets' wide receiver, Eric Decker, came out to practice on Thursday in uniform and did what he had done at Wednesday's practice, which was very little, reports Rich Cimini of

Decker has a hamstring injury that has caused him to sit out positional drills for the second straight day. He stretched along with the team, but did so in the injury rehab area. Decker did not seem to be able to fully participate in team drills.

Decker's playing status for Monday night's game against the Chicago Bears is still unclear. The Jets remain hopeful that he will be able to play.

Decker has been working well with his new quarterback, Geno Smith, catching nine passes for 137 yards and one touchdown. He had spent the previous four seasons playing for the Denver Broncos before signing a big free-agent contract with the Jets.

The Jets are entering Monday night's game 1 - 1, which is one game behind the Buffalo Bills. Last week, the Jets had a big lead on the Green Bay Packers, but fell apart in the second half and lost the game. The possible loss of Decker against the Bears would be a big blow to the Jets' passing offense, as they are looking to rebound from last week's loss.
