Titans Injury Update: Jake Locker misses practice, status for Sunday in doubt

By on 9/26/2014 05:15:00 PM

Injuries caused Tennessee Titans quarterback Jake Locker to miss a total of 14 games during the 2012 and 2013 seasons, and he came out of a Week 3 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals with a right wrist injury that has put his status for Sunday's game against the Indianapolis Colts in doubt. An MRI reportedly showed no structural damage in Locker's wrist, but he did not practice on Wednesday or Thursday before being limited during Friday's session.

Titans' head coach Ken Whisenhunt came out of Friday's practice encouraged by Locker's progress, which seems to give him a fair chance to start against the Colts on Sunday. But Jim Wyatt of the Nashville Tennessean considers the fourth-year signal caller "closer to doubtful/out" after he was officially listed as questionable on Friday.

If Locker is unable to play, which seems fairly likely barring a dramatic turnaround, Charlie Whitehurst would make his fifth career start and attempt his first regular season pass since 2011 with the Seattle Seahawks.
