Twins Injury Update: Aaron Hicks scratched with stiff back

The Minnesota Twins fell to 66-88 on the season following a 7-3 loss to the Cleveland Indians on Saturday. The Twins are seventh in the league in runs scored, but have been derailed this season due to a staff that is 29th in ERA. The Twins were without outfielder Aaron Hicks, who was a late scratch due to a stiff back.

As reported by Mike Berardino at, Hicks was a late scratch from Saturday's game due to a stiff back. This is the second time this season that Hicks missed games due to a stiff lower back, also missing time in May. The Twins started Jordan Schafer in center field with Eduardo Nunez replacing Nunez in the lineup, starting in left field.

Hicks, in his second Major League season, is batting .209 with a home run and 17 RBI in 62 games. Last season Hicks hit just .192 in 81 games with eight home runs and 27 RBI. He's a career .198 hitter with nine home runs and 44 RBI.
