The Minnesota Twins lost to the Los Angeles Angels on Saturday by the score of 8-5. The Twins' bullpen allowed five runs over the last two innings to fall to 61-81 on the season. The Twins were without closer Glen Perkins for the second straight game due to a stiff neck. Jared Burton, who took over the closer's role, allowed three runs in 2/3 of an inning to take the loss.

As reported by Mike Berardino of, Perkins was unavailable Friday with a stiff neck. The Twins' closer also missed Saturday's game and was listed as day-to-day.  Burton will continue to work in the closer's role until Perkins returns.

Perkins has struggled of late, allowing four earned runs in four innings over his last five appearances. He gave up a walk-off home run to Alex Gordon on August 26 and lost the game on Thursday against the Angels.

Perkins, in his ninth Major League season, is 3-2 with 33 saves and a 2.88 ERA on the season. The two-time All Star has a career record of 31-19 with 87 saves and an ERA of 3.78 in 336 games.
