The Minnesota Twins enter the final five games of the 2014 season coming off a 6-3 win over the Arizona Diamondbacks on Tuesday. The win was just the 67th on the season for the Twins, who are in last place in the American League Central. Injuries have taken their toll, as only five players have appeared in more than 120 games this season. Last night, first baseman Joe Mauer left the game with a right elbow contusion after being hit by a pitch.

Andy Greder, sports reporter for, tweeted the following on Mauer's status.
Chris Parmelee replaced Mauer and went 1-for-2 with two RBI and a run scored.  Parmelee is batting .257 with seven home runs and 28 RBI in 85 games this season.

Mauer, in his 11th Major League season, is batting .276 with four home runs and 52 RBI.  The six-time All Star and 2009 American League MVP has a career batting average of .319 with 109 home runs and 686 RBI.
