Vikings Injury Update: Chad Greenway has broken hand

By on 9/18/2014 10:15:00 AM

The news surrounding the Minnesota Vikings has centered on another player all week, but news of an injury to a key defensive player surfaced on Wednesday. Linebacker Chad Greenway suffered a broken hand early in last Sunday's game against the New England Patriots, but he did not miss a snap after getting some medical attention in the first quarter.

Greenway missed practice on Wednesday, which has his status for this Sunday against the New Orleans Saints up in the air. Vikings' head coach Mike Zimmer expressed hope that Greenway will be able to play, but it's fair to assume he won't practice much, if at all, over the rest of the week.

Greenway played much of last season with a wrist injury, and he has not missed a game since missing his entire 2006 rookie season with a knee injury. He may ultimately be a game-time decision, but barring a significant setback Greenway should be in uniform on Sunday.
