Warriors Injury Update: Andrew Bogut feeling healthy

By on 9/21/2014 06:30:00 AM

The Golden State Warriors head into training camp coming off a 51-win season, but a disappointing first round loss in the Western Conference playoffs. Only six players appeared in 70 or more games and two key players, David Lee and Andre Iguodala missed significant time. Another player that missed significant time was Andrew Bogut, who had injured ribs, back, elbow and ankle. The good news is that Bogut is feeling healthy as training camp approaches.

As reported by Rusty Simmons of, Bogut took part in an open gym scrimmage at the Warriors' practice facility. He displayed his old, physical style of play, take a charge from forward Marreese Speights. Although Speights wasn't pleased, it was a good sign that Bogut has no plans of changing his style of play, despite injuries last season.
"All of my injuries have been of the high-impact variety. The only thing I can do to change that is to be a puss and avoid contact at all costs. Then, it’s the other side of the ball when people say I’m a puss. I’ll take the good with the bad. I’ll still take charges and go for blocked shots. Every now and then, I’ll get a knock."
Bogut was slowed earlier in the off season due to a fractured rib, but returned to workouts in mid-June after the rib healed.

Bogut is in his ninth NBA season out of Utah.  He's averaging 7.3 points on 62.7 percent shooting from the floor, to go along with 10 rebounds per game.  In 507 career games with the Milwaukee Bucks and Warriors, Bogut is averaging 11.6 points, 9.3 rebounds and 1.6 assists per game.

  1. Maybe Speights needs to get a little tougher as big as he is........
