49ers Injury Update: Vernon Davis day-to-day

By on 10/10/2014 02:45:00 PM

After a strong start to the season, San Francisco 49ers tight end, Vernon Davis, has had a tough time staying on the field due to health issues. He suffered a scary back injury in week four, following his battle with an ankle injury, and was unable to play in week five. His prognosis for week six is looking better and he may have a chance to play.

Head Coach Jim Harbaugh was asked about Davis as Matt Barrows reported on Twitter:
Davis did participate in practice on Thursday in a non-contact jersey according to Michael Gallagher of SB Nation. It appears he has a good chance to play on Monday night and will likely be listed as questionable for the divisional match up with the St. Louis Rams.

He still has a few days to improve and prove to the coaches and training staff he can compete at a high level. With the 49ers playing a Monday night game, fantasy owners should look at other options at tight end in case Davis is not able to play or is not at 100%.
