49ers Injury Update: Vernon Davis, Anthony Davis

By on 10/02/2014 11:00:00 AM

The San Francisco 49ers head into their week five match up against the impressive Kansas City Chiefs with a 2-2 record and a couple banged up stars. Both Vernon Davis and Anthony Davis returned to action this past Sunday in their win over the Philadelphia Eagles, but both left the game with injuries.

Tight end Vernon Davis was coming off an ankle injury, but in his return, he injured his back. According to David Fucillo of SB Nation, Vernon Davis said he is still sore and it hurts when he sits down or stands up. He sat out Wednesday's practice.

Offensive tackle Anthony Davis, who sat out the first three weeks with a hamstring injury, also had to leave the week four game with a knee injury. He had an MRI earlier in the week and was seen walking around the locker room on Wednesday with no brace or noticeable limp. He did not participate in practice Wednesday either, also according to SB Nation.

With a tough match up upcoming this weekend, the health of these two stars could be a big factor in the outcome of the game.
