Athletics Injury Update: Brandon Moss recovering from hip surgery

By on 10/24/2014 08:00:00 AM

The Oakland A's won 88 games during the 2014 season, but lost in the AL Wild Card game to the Kansas City Royals. The A's were fourth in runs scored and third in ERA. Injuries were not a major factor this season, as six players appeared in over 120 games. There were some injury concerns though, as Brandon Moss battled hip injuries, but word has it he is recovering nicely from surgery and should be running in a few months.

John Hickey, who covers the A's at Bay Area News Group, tweeted the following update on Moss.
Susan Slusser, who covers the A's for the San Francisco Chronicle, also tweeted on Moss.
Moss is part of an outfield that consists of Coco Crisp, Josh Reddick, Craig Gentry and Jonny Gomes, as well as playing regularly at first base. Expect Moss to be ready by Spring Training.

Moss, in his eighth Major League season, hit .234 with 25 home runs and 81 RBI this season. The veteran has played for the Red Sox, Pirates, Phillies and A's and is a career .248 hitter with 91 home runs and 298 RBI.
