Avalanche Injury Update: Goalie Reto Berra Injured on Thursday

By on 10/17/2014 07:34:00 PM

The Colorado Avalanche continue to lose goalies as Reto Berra left Thursday night’s game at the 2:46 mark of the first period when he was involved in a collision with Ottawa Senators center Kyle Turris. Colorado was leading the game 1-0 at the time but ended up losing 5-3.

The injury to Reto Berra is being described as an upper body injury which occurred on this play. Berra had performed wonderfully in the Avalanche’s 2-1 victory over the Boston Bruins on Monday. This is scheduled to be Berra’s first full season with the Avalanche after spending time with Calgary in the 2013-2014 season. To replace  Berra, the Avalanche inserted newly called up Calvin Pickard according to Mike Chambers at the Denver Post

No update to Reto Berra’s status has been shared by the Avalanche. If his injury is serious enough to cause Berra to miss Saturday’s game against the Montreal Canadiens, Colorado will have to tap into their AHL reserves for the second time in one week.
