Bears Injury Update: Brandon Marshall feels more explosive

By on 10/05/2014 09:09:00 AM

Chicago Bears wide receiver Brandon Marshall is beginning to feel like his old self again, which could be bad news for opposing defenses. Larry Mayer at reports that Marshall is all but over the ankle injury that has been hampering him since week 1 of the season.

Marshall hurt the ankle in the season opener against the Bills and has practiced on a limited basis ever since. He nearly missed two games, but gutted it out both times.

The good news is Marshall told reporters, after returning to practice this week, that he feels like he's gotten his wind back and that he is more explosive.

Marshall hopes to provide a spark to a Bears offense that, on paper, should be one of the most prolific in the league. After catching 13 passes for 119 yards and four touchdowns in the first two games, Marshall was held to three catches for 25 yards and one TD the last two weeks.

A hamstring injury has also slowed the Bears other top receiving threat Alshon Jeffery, too.

The Bears travel to Carolina today take on the Panthers.
