Bengals Injury Update: A.J. Green '80 percent' to play

By on 10/28/2014 11:05:00 PM

A.J. Green had been putting up strong numbers before a recent toe injury sidelined him for the last three Cincinnati Bengals games.  Green, the fourth year wide-receiver out of the University of Georgia, was averaging 18.5 yards per catch and his absence has hurt Cincinnati's passing attack.  NFL writer Connor Orr reports that Green was pressed by reporters regarding his status and he stated he would take the field Sunday against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Green was quoted by Stacey Dales Sunday that he was feeling about 80-percent and he would play against Jacksonville.  It remains to be seen how active Green will be in practice this week and there has been some speculation whether the Bengals should rest him Sunday in preparation for a crucial divisional match-up against the Cleveland Browns following this week's game.  Green's absence has allowed wide-receiver Mohamed Sanu to shine with an increased number of targets.  Defenses facing the Bengals will now have to account for both dangerous receivers, even if Green's explosiveness may be somewhat limited by his recovering turf toe.
