Bengals Injury Update: A.J. Green doubtful for Sunday

By on 10/09/2014 09:53:00 AM

The Cincinnati Bengals' star wide receiver, A.J. Green, was carted off the field yesterday during Wednesday's practice. Green is seeing the doctor on Thursday after injuring the same toe/foot he has previously had problems with, as tweeted by Ian Rapoport of

Green's status right now is (Doubtful) for Sunday's home game against the Carolina Panthers. This is obviously not good news for Bengals fans and Green fantasy owners.

Green is one of the most productive wide receivers each year, and the success of the Bengals' passing offense is mostly due to Green's play. The wide receiver's numbers so far are 17 receptions for 314 yards, with an impressive 18.5 yards per catch and two touchdowns.

The Bengals are coming off an embarrassing performance last week, losing 43-17 to the New England Patriots. The team has received a lot of criticism of whether they are really one of the top teams this year. The chances of Green playing this week doesn't look good for the Bengals. The team will be forced to look for other offensive options this Sunday if Green cannot play.
