Bengals Injury Update: A.J. Green out Sunday

By on 10/11/2014 08:23:00 AM

The Cincinnati Bengals receiver A.J. Green will not play this Sunday against the Carolina Panthers, sources told ESPN's Bob Holtzman on Friday.

Green left practice on Wednesday after aggravating his right big toe. The receiver was wearing a boot on his right foot during Friday morning's practice, as reported by Coley Harvey of

Green was listed as questionable on the Bengals' injury list on Friday. The receiver has described his injury similar to turf toe, but not as bad.

The Bengals' head coach, Marvin Lewis, has indicated he does not know how long this injury will effect Green's season moving forward. "It's day to day, as I was told [Friday], " Lewis said. "He's feeling good. Which is a good thing, a positive thing."

The Bengals and fantasy football owners are hoping Green will be back on the field sooner rather than later. He is and has been one of the best wide receivers in the NFL consistently from year to year. The fantasy owners of Green need to find a different option this week, and if he's available, pick up Bengals' wide receiver, Mohamed Sanu. He figures to get a lot of targets this week against the Panthers.
