Bengals Injury Update: Giovanni Bernard, AJ Green

By on 10/31/2014 10:51:00 AM

The Cincinnati Bengals continue to watch their some of their starting skill players closely as they recover from injuries.  Geoff Hobson reports that the Bengals held Giovani Bernard out of practice for a second straight day indicating he will miss his first game in his NFL career.  Bernard has been banged up the last two games suffering a hip pointer in one and a clavicle injury in another. Both injuries can be nagging, often requiring extended rest rather than progressive rehabilitation exercises.  First-round draft pick, Jeremy Hill , was seen taking 1st team reps with the Bengals this week further indicating Bernard may be out for Sunday's game.

Additionally, the Pro-Bowl wide-receiver A.J. Green was limited in practice this week.  However, this should be seen as precautionary as Green has been recovering from recurrent turf toe injury and was able to play last weekend.  His status would be in doubt if he had been held out fully or was seen on the sidelines in a walking boot.  The Bengals will hope to have his speed available against a weaker Jacksonville Jaguars defense on Sunday.
