Bengals Injury Update: Vontaze Burfict, A.J. Green, Giovani Bernard

The Cincinnati Bengals continue preparing for the Jacksonville Jaguars this week with a few significant injuries and one confirmed out for Sunday's game.

Linebacker Vontaze Burfict is confirmed out for Sunday's game and for the next few weeks after undergoing a knee surgery.

Wide receiver A.J. Green practiced on Wednesday, for the first time in nearly a month. Green said he felt good after the practice and hopes to do a little bit more on Thursday. The indications are promising that Green could play Sunday, but don't expect him to play cautiously to get healthier for the quick turnaround against the Cleveland Browns next Thursday. Green says he won't be thinking about that, but instead focusing on playing as hard as he can.

Running back Giovani Bernard did not practice on Wednesday as he's still suffering from a hip injury sustained in last Sunday's game. He's expected to be listed as questionable for this Sunday's game against the Jaguars. If Bernard is unable to start, then Jeremy Hill would likely get more touches.

Right guard Kevin Zeitler and linebacker Rey Maualuga also did not practice on Wednesday. Tight end Tyler Eifert returned from short-term IR last week, but did not practice on Wednesday.
