Blackhawks Injury Update: Kris Versteeg Returns to the Lineup Tonight

By on 10/21/2014 03:43:00 PM

The Chicago Blackhawks are close to being at full strength as winger Kris Versteeg is scheduled to return to the lineup tonight against the Philadelphia Flyers according to the teams' Twitter account (see below). Versteeg has missed the first four games of the season due to a lower body injury sustained at practice approximately two weeks ago.

Kris Versteeg spoke about his plans for his debut Tuesday night in this video. Versteeg is looking to rebound from a disappointing 2013-2014 season that saw him account for the fewest amounts of points in a season for his career (when playing more than 70 games). Initial signs point to Kris Versteeg playing on the second line with Patrick Kane and center Andrew Shaw. These line assignments could change as the game and season moves forward. Blackhawks’ coach Joel Quenneville is known for tinkering with his lines multiple times before, during and after games.

The Blackhawks are currently 3-0-1 heading into tonight’s game.
